Auriga's Modeling and Design Team:
Key Member Bios
Dr. Yusuke Tajima
Chief Technology Officer
Dr. Tajima has been working in the area of GaAs microwave devices for over 30 years. He has been the director of device modeling and design at Auriga Measurements since 2004. In 2000, Yusuke was the founder and general manager of ACCO USA where he was responsible for the operation of the Company.
He started his career at Raytheon in 1979. While at Raytheon, his job responsibilities continued to increase; at the time of his departure in 2000, he was the technical group leader with responsibility of over many engineers and scientists. Yusuke was directly responsible for many satellite programs such as Globalstar, Inmarsat, and Skybridge. He also worked in chip sets for Direct Broadcast systems, WLAN, and PA for cellular phones. He was one of the pioneers in GaAs MMIC technology and made significant contributions to large signal models for FET. He began his career as a microwave engineer at Toshiba Research Center in 1968 where he engaged in Gunn Diodes and GaAs FET.
Yusuke received his Ph.D. degree from Tokyo University in 1979. He has published 30 papers and holds 10 patents. He is a member of the IEEE MTT-S technical committee.
Dr. Nickolas Kingsley
Principal Engineer
Dr. Kingsley completed the PhD program at Georgia Institute of Technology in May 2007. He was a member of Georgia Electronic Design Center (GEDC), Packaging Research Center (PRC), and MiRCTECH research group. Nick’s research interests include the design, miniaturization, fabrication, packaging, and testing of RF MEMS multilayer front ends. During his PhD program, he focused on novel technologies using liquid crystal polymer (LCP) substrate. Nick has filed four invention disclosures related to LCP innovations, has published over a dozen papers in peer reviewed journals and conferences, and has a published book chapter on RF MEMS devices.
Nick won numerous research awards from Georgia Tech at the University, College of Engineering, and School of ECE level. Most notably, Nick is the recipient of the 2002 President’s Undergraduate Research Award presented at Georgia Tech.
Nick joined Auriga in June 2007 as a principal engineer in the modeling and design group. He is a member of the IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society, the IEEE Microwave Theory and Techniques Society, and the Order of the Engineer. He will serve on the 2008 IEEE MTT-S Technical Program Committee and the 2009 International Microwave Symposium Steering Committee. Nick also serves as a reviewer for several IEEE journals.
